Clinical Disclaimer

Last updated: October 29, 2026

TriggerPoints3D is an educational and reference tool for understanding muscle anatomy, trigger points and referred pain. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

If You are a patient or member of the public: do not use the Service to diagnose or treat yourself. Always seek the advice of a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional about any symptom or medical condition, and never ignore professional advice or delay seeking it because of something You have seen in the Service.

In an emergency, call 999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US, or Your local emergency number.

This Clinical Disclaimer forms part of Our Terms of Service. In it, "We", "Us" and "Our" mean Knobzz Ltd, and "Service" and "Content" have the meanings given in those Terms.

Educational Use Only

The Content, including 3D anatomical models, trigger point locations, referral pattern maps, symptom searches, treatment guidance, clinical pearls, videos and patient programmes, is provided for general education and professional reference only.

Using the Service does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–patient or any other healthcare relationship between You and Us or any of Our contributors.

Who the Service Is For

The clinical features of the Service, including Pro, are intended for:

  • qualified and appropriately registered healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, doctors, sports therapists and massage therapists;
  • students of those professions, working under the supervision of a qualified practitioner or educator;
  • educators teaching anatomy, musculoskeletal medicine and manual therapy.

Professional Judgement

The Content does not replace a full clinical assessment, clinical reasoning or professional judgement. Trigger point referral patterns overlap with many other conditions, and symptoms that appear myofascial may have another cause. Before treating a patient, You are responsible for:

  • taking a full history and carrying out an appropriate examination;
  • screening for red flags, contraindications and conditions that need medical referral;
  • deciding whether any technique is appropriate for that patient and obtaining informed consent;
  • working within Your scope of practice, training, registration and insurance;
  • following the laws, regulations and professional guidelines that apply where You practise.

Dry Needling and Invasive Techniques

Videos and guidance about dry needling, injection or other invasive techniques are provided for education only. Watching them does not qualify You to perform these techniques. Invasive procedures carry risks, including pneumothorax, nerve or blood vessel injury, infection and fainting, and should only be performed by practitioners who have completed recognised training, are permitted to do so in their jurisdiction, and hold appropriate insurance. Always follow current safety and infection-control guidance.

AI Clinical Companion

Responses from the AI clinical companion and other AI features are generated automatically. They may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect, even when they sound confident, and they are not reviewed by a clinician before You see them.

  • Treat AI responses as a starting point for Your own reasoning, never as a diagnosis or treatment decision.
  • Check any important information against the primary Content, the published evidence, or a colleague.
  • Do not enter names or other information that could identify a patient.

Patient Self-Help Programmes

Self-help programmes, stretches and exercises in the Service are designed to be recommended by a healthcare professional who has assessed the patient and judged them suitable. Anyone following a programme should stop and seek advice if they experience increased pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness or any other unusual symptom.

Accuracy and Anatomical Variation

We take care to base the Content on recognised sources and expert review, but medical knowledge changes and the evidence for some techniques is still developing. We do not guarantee that the Content is complete, current or free from error.

The 3D models and maps show typical anatomy and commonly reported referral patterns. Individual anatomy, trigger point locations and pain patterns vary from person to person, so the Content should not be used to locate structures precisely on a particular patient.

Expert Contributors

Content from Our expert contributors, including Dr Robert Gerwin and Simeon Niel-Asher, reflects their clinical experience and professional opinion at the time it was produced. It may not reflect every view in the field and is not a recommendation for any individual patient.

Emergencies and Red Flags

The Service is not designed for urgent or emergency situations. Seek immediate medical help for symptoms such as chest pain, sudden severe headache, sudden weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, unexplained weight loss, fever with spinal pain, or pain following significant trauma.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, We are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from decisions, treatments or advice based on the Service or its Content. Our full liability terms, including the liability We do not exclude, are set out in Our Terms of Service.
